Join us for a captivating presentation on the discovery of the hidden heritage of Renee Messelin, a remarkable woman whose story remained in the shadows for over a century. Our speaker will share the challenges and triumphs encountered while documenting the lives of the "Hello Girls,” who served during World War I. Learn about the innovative research techniques used to trace Renee's heritage and uncover her full identity.

Diane Boettcher is an experienced genealogist and retired Navy Captain. She is the principal researcher for a historic African American cemetery in Maryland, as well as assisting with research on the Signal Corps Telephone Unit, also known as the “Hello Girls.” She is the immediate Past President of Maryland’s Carroll County Genealogical Society.
